Saying "good bye" is very hard. We told Rowen that Daddy is going to work in Afghanistan for a while.

Marine SSgt Matthew is officially off on his 4th combat deployment (3 to Iraq, this one to Afghanistan). Matthew and his team of the six Marine dog handlers and the six bomb-sniffing dogs departed Camp Pendleton on Tuesday morning to begin their long trip to Afghanistan. We received a text message from him this morning at 0011 MDT stating, "We've landed , One more leg to go to Afghanistan" .
Thank you letter. We got it the other day and I let them fight over the chocolate. The girls love anything with chocolate so it was a little battle. They ended up with half of it. We have been busy over seeing a station renovation project at our stations. They are almost done. I will have to send some pictures when our Internet gets a little more speed and can handle the file size. Thanks again for everything
Sincerely,
1LT Jones
I just wanted to thank you for the box you sent. The Soldiers really enjoyed it. I received the box a few days ago and finally had the ability to use the Internet. My platoon trains the Iraqi Police and we are often away from communication for an extendedperiod of time. The weather has not helped either. Unfortunately it has started raining here and made quite a mess of the roads. The box was a great surprise after a long day of patrolling. The Soldiers really enjoy digging through boxes that people send the platoon and claiming their favorite item before someone else does. Thanks for taking the time to think of us and once again thank you for the box.
Sincerely,Darrell Jones
Your packages were a huge hit, everybody enjoyed them and it is nice to know folks back home are supporting us. Thank you again for all that you do, with all the negative stories in the news it gives me hope that there are folks like you who go out of their way to help people. Please pass along my thanks to all who helped you and to your family.
